What is Blephadex Foam?

Blephadex is a brand of eyelid foam cleanser which contains the natural, soothing ingredients of tea tree and coconut oil, specifically formulated for the treatment of Blepharitis and Dry Eyes. The soft bubbly foam is easy to use and gently cleanses and moisturizers your eyelids.

Tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves of the Australian native Tea Tree bush, Melaleuca Alternifolia. For generations, Aboriginal people have used Tea Tree Oil as a natural antibacterial to treat infections and assist the body to heal. Blephadex Foam contains a safe concentration of tea tree oil suitable for applying to eyelids, providing a natural remedy to eliminate bacteria and keep your eyes clean and healthy.

Coconut oil is recognised as providing natural moisturizing and healing properties for the hair, skin and nails.  For this reason it is a popular ingredient in shampoos, moisturizers and cleansers. How Do I Use Blephadex Eyelid Foam Cleanser?

The Blephadex Foam comes in a convenient pump bottle which can be used each day to gently clean away excessive oils and crusty build-up along the eyelid.

While showering or at your bathroom sink and with clean hands, squirt a small amount of foam (approximately the size of a 20 cent coin) onto the tips of the index and middle fingers of one hand. With the other hand hold open the bottom eyelid of one eye and gently massage the foam onto the edge of the eyelid where the eyelashes protrude using lateral side to side strokes. Then gently rub the foam along the top eyelid. Close the eye and wipe the excess foam off and use it to massage the eyelids of your other eye in the same way. Close eyes and rinse away the excess foam with tepid water and pat dry gently with a clean towel. Your eyes should feel a clean, soothing and refreshing sensation.

The Blephadex Eyelid Foam Cleanser can be used every day or every few days to help relieve the uncomfortable symptoms of Dry Eye Syndrome and Blepharitis. 

Blephadex is also available in convenient Eyelid Wipes, wrapped in individually sealed sachets, to maintain moisture and stay hygienically fresh. How Does Blephadex Eyelid Foam Cleanser help my Dry Eyes?

Along the edge of the eyelids where the eyelashes sprout is a line of tiny glands called the Meibomian Glands. These glands secrete an oil which releases into the tear film and helps to reduce evaporation and maintain lubrication of the eye surface. If these glands are not functioning efficiently or become blocked the oil does not reach the eye surface and you feel the uncomfortable symptoms of dry eye syndrome.

Blepharitis is the term used to describe the condition when the Meibomian Glands have become inflamed and are not producing good quality or enough oils for healthy tears. As a result your eyelids and eyes become red and irritated  and you may see dry crusty bits along the eyelashes.

Blephadex Eyelid Foam enables a gentle massage of the lid margin, stimulating the tiny oil glands and allowing the natural oils to seep into the glands.
